Our Vision

Community

We connect people locally and create spaces for shared experiences. Groups come together more easily, ideas become visible and earn recognition. Single actions grow into relationships and memories that last.

Platform

Creators design new activities with modular building blocks. Explorers search for fitting experiences and carry them out with invitations, scheduling and navigation. This turns digital creativity into real-world experiences from idea to execution.

Social Impact

We promote movement, connection and participation in everyday life. Activities energize cities and regions, support education in schools and clubs, and strengthen local offerings. Passive consumption decreases and local communities grow closer.

Retrospective & Outlook

Where we come from and where we want to go

Summer 2022

The initial idea for Playground Earth emerged during a bachelor project. Using a self-developed app, new routes through the city were explored and the foundation for further development was laid.

Winter 2023/24

A business plan and a Kickstarter video brought the vision of Playground Earth to the public for the first time. In addition, the Open Innovation Lab at HTWG Konstanz supported the creation of initial merchandise such as clothing and stickers.

Summer 2024

Participation in the Startup School by Kilometer1 enabled further development of the idea. Surveys provided valuable insights, and Playground Earth reached the finals of the 2024 Idea Cup with positive feedback.

Winter 2024

The master theses of the two founders, Fabian and Gerhard, were aligned with the vision of Playground Earth. The focus of their research was on artificial intelligence and user-generated content in the leisure sector.

Autumn 2025

After completing their master’s degrees in computer science at HTWG Konstanz, the team was able to fully dedicate itself to Playground Earth. With the approval of the EXIST funding program, the development of the app began.

Spring 2026

A first prototype is planned. With the support of the funding program, around 100 test users will try out the app and provide feedback to guide further development.

Winter 2026

Based on the results of a beta phase and comprehensive user surveys, the official launch of Playground Earth is planned. The feedback will form the basis for the final version.

Beyond Boundaries

The long-term focus is on international expansion. In addition to multilingual support, creator functions will be extended and user feedback will be continuously integrated.
